Impeachment sounds noble, until you try it in real life — then it's just theater.*
According to my pal Chat:
To actually impeach and remove a president, you need:
-
A clear abuse of power that voters understand and care about
-
A House majority with the guts to move forward
-
A Senate supermajority willing to defy party lines
-
And usually, a public outcry that’s loud enough to scare politicians into action
It’s less about justice, more about power and timing.
And that about sums it up — or does it?
Here we get to what a number of my previous posts have already mentioned: the dumbing down of Americans and the wielding of power by a power-crazed individual who shall remain unnamed for now.
Tariffs — yep, that dirty word so loved by the man — are dragging the whole world into submission. The ultimate ‘power high,’ beloved by so many despots of the past.
Already a great number of countries are vying to sacrifice their electors’ given rights to determine their own future, being forced to sell their souls for the dubious privilege of partnering with a shattering nation and its fragmented economy.
So much of the theory behind tariffs is appealing — on paper. But even Ronald Reagan had to admit that the present and the future are incompatible when tariffs are tossed into the ring.
The image of Trump signing executive orders beneath the portrait of Reagan is surely ominous — if only the Duck had understood the underlying message better and refrained from such suicidal tactics. There must be better ways of destroying a worthy heritage. Surely?
So, are tariffs throwing the world into recession? More than likely. Too many selfish investors and the extremely hungry are being forced to mop up what crumbs are left on the plates of negotiations while their bellies rumble and the weight of responsibility is tossed into nearby waste disposal units.
And, are there enough grounds for impeachment? Unlikely. Absolute power was carefully planned from Term 1, and not only is there a majority along the corridors of power, but also in the Chicken Supreme that is the highest court in their land.
The only hope left must be that the people themselves awaken from the stupor that has held them since their sissy fit against Biden — the tantrum that took Kamala from the role she deserved and handed the stage to a man whose blend of bluster and populism makes Mao’s Little Red Book look like a self-help pamphlet.
And if history has taught us anything, it’s that when the people stop reading, the tyrants start writing.
Impeach, 'Impeach who?' a wise old owl once said!!
Ranting really riles me, but I sleep well nevertheless.
Cheers!!
