The Exceptional Power of the Mind.

Positive Mindsets*

 Power again? Sorry.

But it matters.
Exceptional people who do exceptional things often do so unaware of how or why it comes so naturally. Survival against the odds, winning when not equipped to win, and simply completing a puzzle that has taken hours to understand are often the result of the exceptional power of the mind.

Not all of us are blessed with the smarts that make tasks easier to perform. In fact, many are left literally 'in the dark' when it comes to more complex understandings of the problems around us. Yet shaping outcomes in our favour—through the power of the mind—is possible even for the dimmest, once they understand what that power actually is.

Negative and positive input determine our ability to act and react. For some unexplainable reason, humans have difficulties in finding the confidence they need to perform well. A negative outcome often results in doubt, followed by a less-than-satisfactory result in the next attempt. Positivity can often help to improve the outcomes of the future, but self-doubt often takes precedence over logic.

So long-winded. What has happened to my voice today? Am I ever going to be able to write at the level I believe I am able to? Maybe I should take a break—a long break of, say, 10 years?
Yep, people—that’s how long it’s been since I last wrote seriously.
A critique of what I hoped would be my life-changing opus threw a spanner into my writing career, and only now do I feel I’ve recovered.

In so much of the way I’ve lived my life, it has always been necessary to mould the most complex challenges of understanding into the simplest, most malleable structure to grasp their nature.

And now, down to the nitty gritty of the theme behind this post.
A number of years ago, I began conducting an experiment around my necessities of the time. I needed to catch a bus at a certain time on certain days. (Simplifying the problem.) I had to walk a certain distance, cross a public square, with the choice of two bus stops. While crossing the square, I was always able to see the stop before the square—which was closer—and determine the possible outcomes based on what was happening there.

Most often, because my timing was usually spot-on, my position crossing the square stayed constant—while the bus’s arrival varied. If, on this day, I needed to get that bus and it was close to the first stop, I could run to the next stop, no matter how far it was, and still catch it. If, on this day, the need to get that bus wasn’t as great, then even running the same rate from the same two relative positions meant I was not likely to make it.

So, how did this outcome change so much?

I realized that by determining in my mind that I had no margin for failure, my efforts weren’t necessarily in running harder—it was roughly the same—but the power of my mind was, in effect, capable of influencing external factors like traffic lights, bus queues, and even slow traffic. Somehow, by projecting only success through my will, all other factors aligned to guarantee it.

Conversely, when I allowed any doubt to enter my mind, alignment faltered—and I would be unsuccessful.

Crazy, huh? The thought that we can determine what external factors are doing simply through the exceptional power of our minds.

I’ve tested this concept across many different scenarios, with constant positive results when needed, and can attest to this innate ability we have.

Try it sometime. Put it to the test.
You’ll amaze yourself with what you’re capable of.

Cheers

  2. And that is not so far from the truth. Collective negative vibes can be just as effective as collective positive vibes.
